Service Area

  • Senior Day Club operates from The Goonellabah Community Centre, 27 Oliver Avenue, Goonellabah.
  • Monday and Wednesday 10am – 2pm
  • Friday’s for Italian Seniors 10am – 2pm. This day club is culturally specific for older Italians.

Referral

Referrals may be made by: Self, Family, Friends, Doctors, Community Service Providers or Aged Care Assessment Team.

Cost

$15 per day. This covers transport, morning tea and lunch. No one is refused service due to an inability to pay. This will be discussed at your assessment.

Inclusions

Provides Centre Based Day Respite for older people residing in their own homes. Clients are offered the opportunity to socialise, participate in recreational and leisure activities that are both therapeutic and enjoyable.

Goals

Clients are offered the opportunity to socialise and participate in recreational, leisure activities and our exercise program. To assist clients to remain independent living in their own homes.

The Eden Aspect

The clients participate in deciding and organising what they wish to have included at the day club. Activities promote healthy active ageing, self-esteem and independence in a supported environment. To eliminate Loneliness and boredom.

Referrals

Referrals can be received by phone or CIARR. After receiving the referral the client is contacted and an appointment is organized for an assessment, to discuss availability and explain the service to the client and family.

Priority

Priority is based on the client’s needs and availability.
